YOUR MEETING AT THE AIRPORT

Two modern conference rooms offer space for 12 and 20 people. They are ideal for exchanging ideas with colleagues and business partners. Conferencing at the airport saves time. You also benefit from the short distances to and from the terminal and the free parking. The rooms are located on the second floor of the airport building and are equipped with state-of-the-art technology such as a projector, whiteboard, air conditioning and laser pointer.

Daily rental: Eur 400,-
Beverage flat rate (coffee and mineral water): Eur 7,– per person

DRF AIR RESCUE – MANNHEIM STATION

AIR RESCUE AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL

The DRF Air Rescue has had its own base in Mannheim since 1986. At that time, operations began provisionally with an Ecureuil AS 350 helicopter, also known as the “Squirrel.” This was replaced by a more powerful BK 117 in 1992. Today, a modern H145 helicopter with a five-blade rotor is stationed in Mannheim – ideally suited for emergency services missions. Originally, Christoph 53 was primarily used for the rapid and gentle transport of intensive care patients between hospitals. Since 2005, the Mannheim rescue helicopter has been directly connected to the Rhine-Neckar Emergency Medical Services Coordination Center and is also alerted in emergencies – whenever it can bring the emergency doctor to the scene most quickly.
The helicopter stationed in Mannheim is a so-called dual-use rescue helicopter: It is used for primary missions after traffic accidents or acute medical emergencies such as heart attacks. Secondary transports include specialized intensive care transfers, incubator transports for premature babies, and other medically complex tasks.

The Christoph 53 crew consists of a total of 19 highly qualified specialists:

11 Emergency Physicians from the Mannheim and Heidelberg University Hospitalser Universitätskliniken Mannheim und Heidelberg
4 Emergency Paramedics from DRF Luftrettung

A special feature of the location: In 2019, the Mannheim crew became the first team in Germany to be fully trained in the use of advanced invasive emergency techniques. Since then, patients with severe blood loss can be treated with blood and plasma transfusions on board the helicopter – a life-saving measure that can be crucial even before arrival at the hospital.

Christoph 53 stands for modern air rescue, the highest medical standards and a strong team that works day after day to save lives.
